There are some of us who don't know anything about this feature of WhatsApp. With the help of Archive Chats feature in WhatsApp you can hide your chats on WhatsApp. In this you can archive both single chat and group chat. 
WhatsApp is undoubtedly the most popular messaging app. It also duly updates it which keep adding features. However, in spite of its many features, there’s still something missing from it that is available in other apps like Telegram and Hike – a secret chat or the ability to hide specific chats from prying eyes.
While WhatsApp recently introduced fingerprint lock for its Android app and offers Touch ID and Face ID lock for iPhones, there’s no way to lock or hide a specific chat. Still, we can use an in-built feature to hide the chat from the home screen.

There are some friends in the friend list whose chats are not suitable to show to others, if you also want to hide any such secret chat in WhatsApp, here are some easy tricks. Which will make this task easier. The tricks shown here will allow you to hide and retrieve your secret chat.

Here's how to chat ...
- Open WhatsApp to hide secret chat
- Now long press on any chat you want to hide
- After long press, you will see the Archive option at the top
- Now you have to select the Archive option
- Selecting the archive option will hide your chat
- This way can bring back chat
- Open WhatsApp to restore chat
- Then scroll down to the bottom of the chat screen
- Below you will see the Archive option, tap on this
- Long press and hold on the archive and tap on the Unarchive icon
- This way you can hide and retrieve hidden chats
Your WhatsApp chat will now be archived and it will not be shown in the chat list.
In order to see that chat you will need to search for that chat in WhatsApp and you will able to access that. You can even start the chatting again, but this will unhide the chat and you will need to archive it again.
But if you don’t want all that hassle, you can also block WhatsApp messages and calls for specific contacts with the help of an app called Chat Locker for WhatsApp.
